The “St” means a general structural carbon steel (that is, plain carbon rather than low alloy) which is not intended to be heat treated (that is, other than the heat treatment which naturally occurs during cool-down from the hot-rolling operation).
The “52” means a minimum tensile strength of 52 kg per sq. mm. In SI units, this is 510 MPa. In Imperial units, it’s 73,961 (that is, in practice, 74,000 or 75,000) psi.
Steel Pipes Online offer a wide selection of St52, St52.3, St52.4 Seamless Pipe, St52 Carbon Steel Pipe and a diverse range of finish options to meet the performance and appearance requirements for most applications. We deliver St52, St52.3, St52.4 Seamless Pipe from stock and warehousing as well as directly from the mill.

* Individual inquiries are required on tube sizes greater than .375" wall ** These tensile values would not apply for these grades when supplied "annealed for best machinability." These tensile properties are typical minimum values for each grade in sizes up to maximum of .500" wall thicknesses. Inquiries for other steel grades, thermal conditions, or heavier wall sizes should be referred to Dofasco Tubular Products.
